Web VR Theatre: Life of Galileo
Life of Galileo – A Participatory WebVR Performance

Inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s Life of Galileo, this participatory WebVR performance revisits an urgent question: what should we do when knowledge capable of changing the world conflicts with political, religious, and institutional power?

Participants enter a shared virtual environment as digital bodies. Together, they read Brecht’s text, rehearse scenes, move through spatial arrangements, and encounter fragments of historical and theatrical material. The virtual space becomes both a rehearsal room and a site of collective inquiry.

Through performance, the project explores the relationship between knowledge, power, and responsibility. At the same time, it turns attention towards the medium itself. While using WebVR, avatars, interfaces, and networked communication, participants are invited to question how digital technologies shape presence, perception, agency, and human relationships. This project treats virtual theatre as a critical space in which technology is experienced, performed, and questioned from within.
